Any one noticed the new Tag options in photos??  Tags are really nothing more than keywords which is used to describe yours photos in orkut.So now you can tag your photo with name of your friends! Like, if you post the the photo of your friends, then you can add a tag “name-of-friend” .which will be automatically completed by orkut as you type with the list of friends in your profile. Tagging is done to a part of photo which you have to drag and draw with the mouse. After tagging, when some one clicks on that part, he will be taken to your friends profile. Also , you will now have a new option in your home page called “Photos of me” which shows photos of you which are tagged with your name by your friends or you .

1. To add a new tag, goto any album image and click the button “add tag” near the bottom right corner of the image.

2. After that, drag a box around the part that you wish to tag.It will be grayed out for recognition.Release the mouse.

3. A new window will be poped out. Type the name of your friend there. Try to type the name as givien in Orkut Profile. If your friend is using unicode characters, try copying his name from the profile page. Orkut will recognise your friend and a drop down list will be shown . Select your friend and add tag.

4. A box will be shown around your tagged space and it will be linked to your friends profile.

if you didnt find option for tagging , it may be because its disabled in the privacy settings. Go to your settings page and in privacy tab enable the photo tagging feature.

No such option in your profile? Dont worry. Orkut may be rolling out it in phases. Waiti till you get it! All others keep tagging!
